After a rousing start, key benchmarks slipped into negative terrain in mid-morning trade. Indices hit fresh intraday low in afternoon trade. Barometers recovered from the day’s low in mid-afternoon trade and ended almost flat. The Nifty index marginally outperformed the Bank Nifty index owing to gains in Auto and Metal stocks. Among sectors, except PSU bank all other indices are ended in the green led by the auto, metal, FMCG and pharma.

 Japan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.The Nikkei 225 fell 0.76%. Australia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the A-REITs, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.The S&P/ASX 200 fell 0.25%. Chinese blue chips (CSI300), which had started the day lower, were up 1.13% in afternoon trade.
